October 5, 2005
PLYMOUTH, MI -
After a month of preparations, almost half of
all Plymouth Soccer Club members came out to the Visteon soccer fields on
Wednesday, October 5th to complete their 2000 touches for Soccer Kicks for
Cancer. The event highlights the effort required of all the players with the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's fundraiser.
This year, all Plymouth Soccer Club teams were individually registered in
this great fund raising effort. In addition to the 2000 touches completed,
players earn pledges and donations from friends, family and the community toward
great soccer goodies. Each team is also competing for the top spot in the state
toward a clinic with a US National team player. After the Kicks '95 team earned
this reward earlier this year, all teams are aiming for the honor. Already,
there are rumors of teams well over the $2000 mark.
All teams have until October 30 to turn in the funds raised.
